Fund Budgets & Variance

Set an annual budget per fund and track actual giving against it all year.

Budgets turn your giving data into a living view of how each ministry fund is tracking.

Set a fund budget

  1. Go to Giving > Budgets.
  2. Choose a fund and enter its annual budget for the current year.
  3. Save. SteepleOS writes a budget-history row so you keep a record year over year.

Read the variance

  • Each fund shows actual giving to date against a pro-rated expected amount (the share of the annual budget you'd expect by today's date).
  • A negative variance means you're behind the pro-rated pace; positive means ahead.
  • Use this on Giving > Budgets or in the Treasurer Report to spot a fund that's lagging early enough to act.

Tip: Budgets are per-fund, so you can track General, Missions, and Building separately and see exactly which one needs attention.
