Migrating from Another Platform

Planning Center Migration

1. In Planning Center, export your People list as a CSV from People > Lists > Export.
2. Map the exported columns to SteepleOS fields. Common mappings: first_name to firstName, last_name to lastName.
3. Giving history can be exported separately from Planning Center Giving and re-imported under Giving > Import History.

Breeze Migration

1. Export your member data from Breeze under More > Data > Export.
2. Breeze uses slightly different field names. Review the column headers and rename them to match the SteepleOS CSV template before uploading.
3. Tags in Breeze can be mapped to Groups in SteepleOS after import.

General CSV Migration Tips

• Always do a dry run first. Upload your CSV with the "Preview Only" option enabled to catch mapping errors before committing.
• Clean up your data before import: remove duplicate rows, standardize phone number formats, and ensure email addresses are valid.
• If you have more than 5,000 records, consider splitting your CSV into batches of 2,000 for smoother processing.
• After import, spot-check 10-15 records manually to verify households, statuses, and contact details transferred correctly.
