1099 Worksheet for Contractors

Find which payees crossed the $600 IRS reporting threshold at year-end.

If your church pays contractors (a guest speaker, a worship musician, a cleaner), the IRS generally requires a 1099-NEC for anyone you paid $600 or more in a year. SteepleOS gives you a worksheet that does the math.

Using the 1099 Worksheet

  1. Go to Finance > 1099 Worksheet.
  2. Pick the tax year.
  3. You'll see every payee, their total paid, and a flag on anyone who crossed the $600 threshold.
  4. Payees missing a Tax ID are flagged so you can collect a W-9 before filing.
  5. Export to CSV to hand to your accountant or filing service.

Important: This worksheet helps you identify who needs a 1099 — it does not file the form for you. Always confirm with your tax professional. Mark expenses as 1099-reportable (and add the payee's Tax ID) when you log them so they appear here.
